Zeitgeist: A Philosophy of History Course

As institutions crumble and the post-war consensus loses its power, we must wonder how to make sense of change, duration, time, events, meaning…and what comes next. I’m teaching a four-part, in-person course in London, starting April 22nd, running fortnightly.

Through the lens of chaos, stasis, progress, and providence, we’ll look at, among others, Herodotus, Vico, Condorcet, Kant, Hegel, Marx, de Maistre, Dilthey, Collingwood, Danto, Lasch, Spengler, Foucault, MacIntyre, Koselleck, Biggar.
